Crowne Plaza Hotels
TYPOCOM were commissioned to evaluate and propose a re-development of the bar and restaurant facilities at Crowne Plaza's Manchester Airport Hotel. As the first hotel to be built on the Manchester Airport site, the dining area was suffering from an out-dated interior and incoherent branding.
TYPOCOM recommended a more informal and relaxed space, using subtle lighting and seating arrangements to create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, fitting of the four-star establishment. The suggested name 'Nineteen38' is in reference to the year the adjoining airport was built, and a new identity for the bar and restaurant was developed around this theme.
